awful avoid!
First of all I grew up eating all sorts of roes/caviars. I had tried many different ones from all sorts of sources and countries. I know my stuff! Avoid this horrible tasteless, texture less garbage
this is from male fish
look up soft cod roe online people. it's not fish eggs
first time I have ever had cod roe
I didn't know what to expect and had no idea how to even prepare these. I am not a massive fan of fish either. I drained them and the fried them in salted butter on low heat for 10 mins. tasted a bit like sea bass. I had them on their own sprinkled in sea salt. will buy them again. 100% cod is great. give them a try. I am glad I did.
A Childhood Favourite!
These are tasty. I love mine on toast, with a bit of salad for lunch. Easy and so good for you :)
lovely
Floured & fried or grilled on toast. These make a lovely lunch. We add malt vinegar or salt to taste.
A surprise
Used a stick blender to mash two tins together with breadcrumbs, a very small shallot, lemon, garlic salt and a glug of oil for a surprisingly good cheaty taramasalata. Used a plain white gluten free bread so it was edible by all which worked well. Very happy to have easy ingredients for a quick store cupboard spread.
