Dry eggs
really not worth it underwhelming
delicious
It was the best eggs I ever tasted. Delicious!
Underwhelming
First point they are big but found them dry and under seasoned, better Scotch eggs out there.
Expensive but worth it
These are like scotch eggs used to be when I was a kid. They look huge, but it isnt because the egg inside is large - in fact its rather small. The size - and weight - is because the meat is perhaps 3 or 4 times thicker than on a standard supermarket scotch egg. And its really nice too, well seasoned, no gristly lumps. All in all I rate this product extremely highly.
Good quality
Nice meat, seasoning, and crumb. Purchased on a flash sale, so a nice surprise. Would buy again.
very pricey, but nice.
I gave the 4 stars for the quality, it's similar to the old Waitrose runny egg scotch egg, in flavour but without the runny egg bit. what you have to remember there are two types of scotch egg, the budget £1.45 ones with the grey 'meat' loads of rusk and no flavour, then the 'gastropub' type with higher quality sausage meat, less rusk and not dry. £5 is still extortionate, but if reduced by 40% it's worth the treat. mine had no gristle but sausage meat cuts are from tough parts so you might get the tiniest pieces that get through the mincer
