Hands down the best way to buy salmon
We use this side of salmon for salmon burgers and its always brilliant. Tasty, keeps its firmness and often discounted. Brilliant.
great, a regular purchase
this product is usually really great and we purchase this weekly but there were 2 pieces over so many months which went off before the use by date and smelt horrid. Ocado refunded us and we'll still continue to buy
poor quaity
This is not as fatty as the normal salmon
The best salmon Ive had
This sockeye salmon has a much meatier texture and better flavour that farmed salmon. I cooked it for the parents who kept saying how good it was! Expensive when not on offer and not sure I could bring myself to pay full price for the average weekly dinner. But, I will never go back to farmed salmon now.
when its good, its very good.
Ive purchased this salmon several times as I dont want to support the farmed salmon business. At least three times, the fish was fresh and tasty. But the last time, not so much. The packing smelled awful. I will buy again, at least one more time.
tried home curing this
Got a piece as a steal from both flash sales and a coupon together so worked out about a fiver rather than the £16 book price. Cured it using R@R salmon during kit took 3 days in fridge. Result- some of the finest cured salmon Ive ever tasted. I think using salmon of this quality helps if you are not cooking it. Can home make a curing rub much cheaper than buying a kit- its mainly coarse salt sugar and a seasoning of your choice ( eg Dill). Im sure the internet is full of recipes. Really worth a go and even at full price would work out much cheaper than buying most packs of smoked salmon and incredibly easy to do. Give it a go for something different and delicious!
