£1.25 eachProduct information
The taste of an individual oyster very much reflects the landscape in which it is grown and the variety of environments from open sea sites to bays and long sea lochs with lower salt levels. The flavour can range from salty on the exposed Atlantic coast to almost sweet where there are high volumes of fresh water run off due to rainfall.
To eat "au naturel" add lemon juice, vinegar seasoning or Tabasco sauce. Chew two or three times before swallowing or not if you prefer - each to their own!

Preparation and Usage
1 Rinse with drinking water prior to opening. Open immediately before consuming (within one hour).
2 Hold the oyster cupped side down on a firm surface with the pointed hinge end facing you. You may find it helpful to place a folded tea-towel or cloth on top of the oyster.
3 Place the tip of a short blunt strong bladed knife at the hinge of the shell at an angle of approx. 45°. Press hard while wiggling the knife until the tip has entered the shell.
4 Once the knife blade is inside the shell, make a sweeping cut under the top lid to loosen the oyster and remove the top shell.
5 Loosen the oyster meat from the bottom shell by gently running the knife under the flesh.

Brand
Loch Fyne Oysters was founded more than 30 years ago by Johnny Noble and Andy Lane growing oysters on the shores of Loch Fyne and selling them from a small timber shack on the main West Highland road passing through Cairndow. Johnny was very successful at developing UK and international markets such as Hong Kong where we have traded oysters for most of our history. Due to the increased popularity of oysters we now work with partner growers around the UK, selecting from different farms throughout the growing season to provide oysters of the best eating quality all year round. Oyster farming is a sustainable activity with the oysters growing in their natural habitat and feeding on marine plankton.
If you eat oysters regularly we recommend purchasing our Clic Huître oyster opening kit.

underdeveloped, zero quality control
Near empty inside on multiple recent purchases. Maybe I thought their quality control would improve but it hasn't and like a mug I keep buying them . In my defence they used to be really good!
Not much to eat
These are Scottish oysters, so can be pretty small and mean for the price. Better value and size if you swim the Channel. Good and fresh for my latest batch, but very little meat. An oyster is not an oyster: in France it is sized from OO (very large) to 6 (small). Almost all my latest batch were Size 5-6.
Buy them!
Living in a land locked area I can say these are the BEST oysters I have had in a while. Double yum!!!
Normally fine, not now!
We have been ordering these on and off over the years but the latest batch was awful. The size of the oysters was so small that the whole box amount to possibly the amount of 2 oysters in terms of volume. Perhaps its not the right season but we would then expect the product to be not available rather than selling at the well below standard! Extremely disappointed!
Very small and bad quality
There are 12 very small oysters in the box. One of them is empty shell, and two open dead oysters. The rest of oysters are live but with very little flesh.
Underweight and poor value
Have ordered these oysters many times and loved in past (especially on offer) but this time they were minuscule flat shells and only 10 inside instead of 12 advertised on pack. Annoying as serving during special meal and two people could only have two. Emailed straight away but no refund forthcoming. Very poor quality control and not up to the usually excellent Ocado standard! Find a speciality fish supplier instead!
