Brand
The term "Habesha" relates to all things Ethiopian; Teff (also known as Williams' Lovegrass) is an ancient grain native to Ethiopia.
Tiny but mighty. The smallest of all grains, Teff is naturally gluten free and packed with nutrition. Less than 1mm wide, it is no surprise that its name originates from the Amharic word for "lost".
Lovegrass Habesha Teff is proudly sourced from small-scale Ethiopian farmers; who to this day harvest with ox plough, a tradition unchanged for thousands of years.
Lovegrass Ethiopia is on a mission to share the health benefits of Habesha Teff with the world and in doing so connect small-scale Ethiopian farmers with international markets.

Teff is life changing
The best grain I have ever bought, it is so filling, healthy and easy to use, I cant get enough! An incredibly versatile supergrain!!
versatile and tasty
I bought this out of curiosity really, and to substitute other ingredients. After cooking, the texture is still a little grainy and loose, but I found that if you leave it in the pan all the water gets absorbed, and you can cut it like polenta. It tasted good to me as a porridge, with usual toppings. I also used it as a gluten free sub in semolina pudding. It was perfect.
Teff is good
Expensive (sigh) but very nutritious, quick and easy to make. Just remember to soak overnight
amazing for porridge
I have it with date syrup to add flavour. Texture is lovely and very good for you
Tasteless
I received this item free to review. Long winded with no taste. If there was flavour it would be worth the work but sadly there wasn’t.
Very grainy grain
Received free sample from Ocado to review. I followed the instructions on the box to make into a porridge with the suggested banana, syrup and milk. You have to soak it over night, than cook for about 12 minutes whilst constantly stirring. Whilst I could eat it if I was starving, I found the grainy texture very unpleasant and couldn’t bare to eat more than a few mouthfuls. The method was also way too much trouble for such a small return. I might investigate other uses since I have a box to use up but I won’t be purchasing this again.
