No difference
Bought this as normal Marmite was out of stock and could not tell the difference,as it is lower in salt so will definitely buy in the future.
Not sure....
As a lifelong Marmite eater of many decades, I just thought I would give this a try as a healthier option. My first thought on eating it was that it lacks the punch of the traditional Marmite. It seems sweeter to me. I don't eat Marmite that often-crumpets, under beans on toast mainly, so on that basis, I think I will buy the standard version that I have eaten for decades when this jar is empty.
Preferred to original Marmite
I prefer this to the original and its far less salt, not many supermarkets sell this so am pleased Ocado do.
Better than the original
This tasted smoother and less harsh with the reduced salt but still ALL the flavour
Better than the original.
This has a richer flavour than Marmite original and I prefer it. It's a bit easier to spread too - it doesn't smash cream crackers to bits. My husband likes it on peanut butter sandwiches and can't tell the difference.
Tastes the same as standard Marmite \- but dearer!
To me, this tastes almost exactly the same as standard Marmite - delicious! I can't detect any lack of salt. But can the manufacturers please explain how they can justify an extra 25p per jar, when they've actually reduced one of the ingredients? In this health-conscious day and age, when we're all being encouraged to reduce our intake of fat, salt etc, surely products which have removed or reduced these ingredients should be slightly cheaper ....?
