No taste
Thank goodness for my mum (who normally makes her own but didn't have time this time) who managed to breath some life into this flavourless mush with tonnes of seasoning and cream. I appreciate it's simply just chestnuts but either they're very poor at origin or something in the process of pureeing or packaging has killed all flavour.
Chestnut Heaven
Makes the perfect vegan stuffing. So tasty just add stuffing mix & dried cranberries or apricots with Merchant Gourmet Chestnut Purée best stuffing ever

Perfect to add flavour to homemade soup.
Simple and tasty
Great help in cooking when making chestnut veloutes and adding already pureed chestnuts to dishes. Simply chestnuts and water, but very tasty - I'd eat it by the spoon!
Brown sludge
I bought this to make a recipe I have for chestnut and apple crumble. The chestnut puree in the recipe photo looked like a rich, decadent deep brown paste, which was what I imagined this product would be like. Instead, what you get is a packet of solidified beige sludge, which I had to chop up with a knife instead of spreading into the crumble. The best I can say is that it didn't detract too much from the crumble - it certainly didn't add to it.
