Every piece of packaging on every chocolate that we sell is recyclable, biodegradable or compostable. That's right - 100% of our range is recyclable, biodegradable or compostable. This includes the glue, inks and stickers, as well as the tape, pallet wrap, and everything that we use for packaging and distribution. It's been a mammoth task and we are super proud of what we've achieved. In fact, we believe we're the first chocolate company in the UK to be able to make this claim on our entire range and across all packing materials.
All our packaging is now only sourced from the UK and Europe, despite cheaper sources being available from countries further away. This supports our drive to become carbon neutral.
All of our products are made by us in our factory by the sea in sunny West Sussex!
We do not, and will never, use palm oil in our products. We know others use it because it's much cheaper than cocoa butter but we will never compromise on quality or taste. Over 50% of our range is vegan and all of our products are free from Gluten, GM, Colourings & Preservatives.
We do everything in our power to minimise our impact on the environment. We pay a fair price to our suppliers, we always aim to buy cocoa from sources free from deforestation and we are totally against any form of slavery or forced labour.

Divine!
My new favourite, love the cocoa nibs
Great chocolate
Really great chocolate. The cacao nibs enhance the experience. Very satisfying
Very earthy taste but pleasant
Compared to the silkiness of other dark chocolate brands, Montezuma's chocolate always has a very earthy and raw taste to it that I can enjoy as much as the more, how to say, 'refined' brands.
The cocoa nibs make this
Dark chocolate has always been very hit or miss for me mostly miss, but I think Ive finally found a go to! Love the nibs they add texture and a natural sweetness.
5 STARS
Anyone giving less than 5 stars to this should seriously consider therapy
Nasty nibs
I am a massive fan of Montezuma's Absolute Black, so found the sugar in this to be an unwelcome distraction. The nibs are just horrible. They are on par with coffee grounds. We tried one square each and were left with pieces stuck in every nook and cranny of our mouths and had to clean our teeth. Simply horrible. Shuddering at the memory.
