FLAVOUR IS A FRONTIER
Natoora Spanish Black Iberiko Winter Tomatoes
- Black Iberiko is one of the four varieties that we have brought under one banner – Winter Tomatoes – to mark out tomatoes that can only reach their full potential during the cooler months.
- From November to May, skilled growers can exert high levels of water-stress on their plants which would be impossible in hot, dry seasons. They grow in saline coastal regions, in poor, free draining soils; two factors that add to their stress rooted-growing.
- Grown by José in Almería, Iberiko have wine dark skin with mild lobing and dark green collars. Find a balance of bright acidity and umami sweetness in their firm flesh.
Take it further
- Best served raw, lightly seasoned and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.
- If left to soften, these make a fantastic and simple pasta sauce. Simply cook down with a little salt and olive oil.

Delicious
Tasty and delicious. Great tomatoes for early Spring.

The only tasty tomatoes in February
These are my go to tomatoes in the winter. Great taste and texture. Way too expensive to be enjoyed year round but I would rather treat myself to a delicious tomato less often than the tasteless ones with the same regularity as I enjoy tomatoes in the warmer months.

The good, the bad and the ugly
The first time I bought these there were 3 lovely tomatoes. The second time there were 2 mouldy, jellified and oozing ones. Maybe I’ll buy a more reliable brand in future.
