FLAVOUR IS A FRONTIER
Natoora Mixed Italian Radicchios
- A selection of forced radicchios - Tardivo and Trevisano - straight from their native growing region of Veneto in north-east Italy.
- Grown from saved seeds, our Tardivo matures slowly in open fields, harvested only once the first frost has fallen. Pared back, the newly formed heads are then transferred to a forcing tunnel, where they mature fully in a constant stream of natural spring water.
- This mineral-rich water keeps the plants at 17ºC, regardless of the temperature in the tunnels. At this temperature they continue to absorb essential nutrients and minerals, building a depth of flavour unique to his terrain.
- Trevisano is long, tightly-packed variety of winter leaves with a characteristic bitterness in its dark red leaves. Unlike Tardivo, this variety ripens in the open field after the leaves are tied with a rubber band and held shut, without light, for 15-20 days.
- Grown with minimum intervention.
Take it further
- Served with fennel pickle as an aperitif

one good one bad
Now sold in twos. One had outside leaves cut off and going brown. One reasonable but small. Outrageous price!
overpriced
The flavour was bitter and they were too small
overpriced
This is the radicchio season! That price is ridiculous!
radicchio
Very happy with this5
Delicious raw or cooked
I love the variety: the radicchios are very different and each adds its own special characteristics, especially when served raw.
excellent
This is a nice alternative to a plain old iceberg in a salad. All you need is some olive oil and salt and you have a winner
