FLAVOUR IS A FRONTIER

Natoora Italian Radichio di Verona

- Verona Radicchio from Massimo in Veneto — its native growing region.
- In recent years Verona has been displaced as a popular variety by a higher-yielding, more predictable radicchio.
- By saving seeds from his best performing plants year after year, Massimo has develop a selection that allows him to plant sequentially, each seed perfectly suited to a different point in the season.
- Veneto's nutrient dense soil and mineral rich water that flows directly from the mountains are the key to complex flavour.
- Its mild bitter flavour mellows out as the temperatures drop.

Take it further

- Eat raw in salads, grill or braise.

Natoora's radical approach to seasonal sourcing is shaping the future of food

Really tasty

I tried these from a flash sale and was really impressed. My first time eating these! I roasted them with balsamic vinegar, garlic and herbs

Excellent quality

Ive never bought this before but since I cant now buy the Florette frisée and radicchio salad at waitrose or the other supermarkets where I shop, I thought Id try it. There were 2 in my packet and its lasted really well. I really miss being able to buy salad leaves in anything but plastic bags these days in the UK - it must be years since you could buy a frisée lettuce in our supermarkets so its great that I can at least buy radicchio from Ocado.

Only use raw in salads

Quality of Radicchio was very good, it was a little expensive. I tried the braised Radicchio and sausage recipie from Ocado. I found cooked Radicchio very bitter and unpleasant. I then tried the product raw in a salad with a sweetened dressing this worked well. I might purchase again. Its worth a go.

Amongst the best Natoora Produce

I usually avoid buying Natoora except when there is no alternative - the quality is so variable and the best before dates exercises in wishful thinking with produce frequently spoiled on arrival(!) BUT I have found their Radicchio to be quite good most of the time. Todays arrived as one giant head 20cm long & weighing rather less than the advertised 300 grammes and at this size it will be too bitter to use raw - which is all typically disappointing for the brand yet it is a very healthy and unblemished looking radicchio otherwise and will doubtless respond very well to being griddled or roasted.
