FLAVOUR IS A FRONTIER
Natoora Turnip Top Greens (Cime di Rapa)
- Also known as broccoli rapa or cime di rapa, Turnip Tops are a wilder member of the broccoli family with small, loose florets and bittersweet, peppery leaves.
- We source these from growers in Puglia, where the plants grow in open fields without the use of chemical sprays or fertilisers.
- Some distributors start this season early, before the plants have a chance to build strong, balanced inner structure and are liable to ferment in transit.
- We wait until its real season of October to March, when cooler temperatures ensure a tight, closed floret and integrity of the greens post-harvest.
- The result is succulent, meaty stemmed bunches with young leaves.
Take it further
- Chop thicker stalks, use in a soffritto.
- Wilt in garlic oil, toss through orecchiette.
Natoora's radical approach to seasonal sourcing is shaping the future of food
- We are revolutionising the food system.
- We work direct with growers who value flavour, biodiversity and heritage over yield.
- We give them the support they need to build a better future for food, rooted in small scale, sustainable agriculture that gives back to our planet.

great product!
I usually tear the leaves away from stems, chop up both, the stems take longer to cook, so I put them in a frying pan with knob of butter and a2 tbl spoons of water salt and pepper, cover and cook until tender, add the leaves and wilt like spinach, about a minute, taste for seasoning, then use a slotted spoon to dish up.
Just stalks and yellow leaves
Unusable with only a couple of minute heads. The rest was huge stalks and yellowing leaves, totally hopeless to cook the traditional Italian dish.
lovely part of veg
love turnip or radish tops which are hard to get in this country. finally, I've got them and enjoyed. one downside is the price.
love the flavour, great veg alternative
I am from Italy and I used to have cime di rapa often but its not a common veg here in the UK so when i found it inline on Ocado I was excited and i mist say the quality is good. They are full of flavour, delicate in a way and such a delicious alternative to the usual cruciferous veg you find. I like mine steamed and then stir fried in garlic chilli oil. Thank you Ocado for providing a large variety of vegetable!
Could do with some direction
Bought in a flash sale as these looked interesting. There werent any cooking directions (a QR code pointing to suggested recipes would be a useful feature to have) so looked up a recipe for sauteed turnip tops. A little chewy, not sure if that was down to my cooking or the ingredient! They cook down a lot like spinach. The package I received had a few broccoli crowns in which will be cooked in a separate dish. Good to try new things but I probably wouldnt pay the full price.
super healthy
This is used in portugal to make a very popular delicious soup ! Aka Sopa de nabiças
