Ocado British Growing Coriander
£1.60
Product information
Coriander is a delicate and sensitive plant and should ideally be used soon after purchase. Unlike other herbs, coriander should ideally be used once and then discarded as success with growing on can be limited. So don't be disappointed if it doesn't last as long as the other herbs in your kitchen.
Serving Suggestions:
Coriander and Carrots - Mix roughly chopped fresh coriander with olive oil and lemon juice. Pour over freshly boiled carrots and serve.
Salsa - Combine a large handful of fresh coriander with tomato, red onion, garlic, mild chilli to taste, lime juice, salt and pepper. Roughly chop or blitz in a blender for a few seconds and serve immediately.

Storage
Growing herbs are 'cut as you need', harvest just above leaf growth to encourage the plant to re-grow.
Watering the herbs from the bottom is the key to keeping them healthy and to prolonging their life. Your herbs have always been watered from below so by keeping to this regime you will extend the life of the plant.
Remove the herb pots from their sleeves and place the pots on a saucer. By placing water at the bottom of the tray you can always see how much water your plants have taken up. As most herbs originate from hot countries they like to be kept on the dry side. The more heat and light they are exposed to, the more frequently they will need watering. Generally water little and often and never keep your plant in standing water.

Dead
Died within two days of receipt. Watered from the bottom as per instruction on day 1. Left overnight, dead on day 2. Will only buy cut coriander from now on, it actually lasts longer than a week in the fridge if placed in a little water.
Weak across the board
Sadly, this was a spindly little thing and it didn't taste of anything.
poor quality
Twice bought, twice dead within a couple weeks. Too much plant for the size of the pot perhaps? I repotted both times and both times resulted in dead plants. Ive done the same with Basil, rosemary and parsley and this one was the only problem plant I had.
Not punchy enough and died quickly
I know they aren't supposed to live very long but even though they arrived looking healthy, the flavour was weak. If you're buying coriander, you probably like it and want that punchy coriander flavour. This batch didn't quite have it and died within the week.
Wilted within two days
I often buy fresh herbs (basil and parsley) and with regular watering, they can normally be kept for some weeks. This is the first time I have bought a coriander plant. It looked ok when it arrived but just like other reviewers, this one started to wilt after 2 days and would not recover. I threw it away after 5 days. If this plant needs special care, then maybe some instructions should be sent?
Wilted immediately
I bought on flash sale so wasn't expecting the plant to be long-lived, but it had wilted within hours of delivery and hasn't improved with watering
