Product information
This cheese has 30% less fat than our standard cheddar but retains the flavour of a mature cheddar.
Strength - 3.
Our Red Tractor-certified cheese has a smooth texture and deliciously tangy flavour, perfect for pies, pasties, scones and toasties. It's hand-made, matured and packaged at an award winning family farm in Somerset where they have been producing cheese since 1952.
The lengthy maturation of this cheddar can result in white spots and crunchy calcium lactate crystals. These are hallmarks typically found in the best quality mature cheddars.
Whether you're looking for hard, soft, sliced or grated, we've got plenty of choice in Ocado Own Range, simply search for 'Ocado cheese'.

Good flavoured cheese
I really like this cheese as it is not wet and rubbery like a lot of them are these days.
Lovely!
I really dont understand all the negative comments as I found this the best low fat cheddar I have tasted and, believe me, I have tried them all. It is tangy and crunchy, which you dont usually get with reduced fat cheese, and is great for sandwiches and cooking. Will be buying it again.
Used to be fabulous. Now it\x27s horrid
This used to be my go-to cooking cheese - and was good enough to eat on its own as well. This new version is just plain nasty. I'm sure it used to be called cheddar rather than just cheese, but I may be misremembering. Either way, it's yet another product that's been ruined, presumably in the interests of profit.
Definitely changed
This is now about as mature as a six-year-old running around with his pants on his head shouting Im a willy!
Recipe change?
This was always the more bland of the two varieties on offer. Both nice cheeses. M&S Extra Strong has more flavour. However, that too seems to have changed. It used to be more creamy and easy to slice. Now it's dry and crumbly and feels hard in a sandwich. I have in the past tricked my friends into beliving both these brands are the full fat thing. Now they turn their nose up at both.
changed recipe?
Not sure what had happened to this cheese but it used to be our favourite. The taste and texture has completely changed with the last purchase- now bland and rubbery rather than the tasty, crumbly texture of the original recipe? Please change it back :(
