Should Have Listened
Many of you said this was not a great product, I thought Brand Pataks couldn't be that bad! How wrong was I. I hate waste, but I wouldn't give the jar cupboard room after I tried it once !
Lurid Artificial Colour
It doesn't really matter what this tastes like because the look of it is so vile you won't want to eat it anyway. In the jar it looks an extremely vivid red, but when mixed with yoghurt as a marinade it turns the most hideously unappetising candy pink colour which gets worse with cooking. The colour comes from 3 types of E-number artificial additives, which carry a warning on the label saying these chemicals can be harmful to children! So it's a great big "Nope" from me.
lovely flavour, shame about the E numbers
As others have mentioned Id like this a lot more, and purchase more often, if it wasnt for the E numbers. The flavour is lovely and strong. As far as I can see, the E numbers are for colour only (which I think is so unnecessary). Would be a regular purchase otherwise but, as it stands, Itll be bought on rare occasions.
warning for children - E Numbers
Very misleading that theyre pushing no artificial flavours or preservatives yet they cram it with E numbers that require actual warnings on the packaging... May have an adverse effect on activity and attention in Children - why Pataks decided to include these specific E Numbers anyway blows my mind and shame on Ocado for stocking it. Yes its legal but there is enough evidence to warrant an actual warning on the label, so why? They could easily find natural alternatives for the colouring or just leave it out entirely.
Makes excellent chicken kebabs
Mixing 1/3 of a jar with some natural yoghurt and the squeeze of a fresh lemon creates a great tasting kebab served in a pitta bread. I highly recommend this.
tastes great but...
Please get rid of the E numbers...Then Id buy this brand all the time
