For the Cupcakes...
Make sure a grown up helps you when baking.
Get an adult to turn the oven on to 180ºC (160ºC Fan) / Gas Mark 4.
1 Put your cupcake cases in a bun tray, ready for later.
2 Empty the contents of the sponge mix sachet into a large bowl, add 1 medium egg and 30 ml (2 tbsp) cold semi-skimmed milk.
3 Mix them all together and whisk for about 1 minute, until the mixture is lovely and creamy.
4 Carefully share the sponge mixture between the 10 cupcake cases.
5 Bake in the centre of the oven for 12 to 15 minutes until risen and golden brown.
6 Take them out of the oven and leave them to cool down completely.
For the Icing...
1 Make your icing by putting the icing mix in a bowl and add 10-15ml (2-3 tsp) of water.
2 Mix carefully until the icing is thick but still pourable (add a few more drops of water if you need to).
3 Using a spoon divide the icing equally between the cooled cupcakes and smooth with the back of the spoon, then add the waferettes to decorate and complete your cupcakes!
We have given you these instructions as a guide only as oven performances will vary.

Caused food poisoning?
I dont know if its just a coincidence that we tried this mix and my two-year-old ate about five cupcakes (theyre tiny and flat). She suddenly developed a fever at night and threw up twice. Shes absolutely fine this morning, how strange! The cake powder was quite clumpy from the packet, so it wasnt a smooth mix. The only good thing is that it didnt require butter or oil, just egg and milk which made it very simple.
Good toddler activity, could be much better
I buy this cake mix because it's an easy and fun activity for my toddler. (Who has milk & soya allergy so I substitute for oat milk). However, this mix makes 6 cupcakes at best, the cases are really bent out of shape and the transfers faded and dull (not like the picture on the box). The icing to cake ratio is far too high and my son doesn't really enjoy the actual cakes. I prefer other cake mixes however he doesn't always engage so I end up buying these purely for the paw patrol element.
We love them!
We are 2 adults (lol) and love these. Nice mid week snacks. We make them into 6 in a muffin tray - delicious and not too high calorie
great fun for little ones
My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed making these. As theyre for children, I have no problem with how small the cupcakes are!
Tiny amount
I didnt expect much from it, but my daughter was very excited to make them. We got a meagre 6 tiny cupcakes out of the cake mixture. In contrast to that, there is a huge amount of icing sugar in the packet, most of it will go in the bin. I wont buy it again. I think
Foul
I didn't expect much from a Nickelodeon-branded cake mix but this was shocking. The amount of mix is tiny. The "serving suggestion" on the front only shows three cakes, which is about all this makes, if you want full-sized cupcakes. I used the smallest egg I had (medium is recommended) and I still think it was too much as the cakes were stodgy and didn't rise well. Also, it's so quick to make that it doesn't keep kids occupied for more than 5 mins. Much better to make your own cakes and buy some fun icing and cake toppers separately.
