- With food resources scarcer now, it is essential to feed garden birds all year round. Once you have
started to feed the birds it is important to continue this, and develop a routine, as the birds will become reliant upon your help.
Hygiene
- Always ensure garden birds have plenty of fresh clean water for drinking and bathing
- Clean dining areas regularly with a mild disinfectant
- Keep food fresh and dry, removing any wet food to prevent the spread of bacteria and diseases

Much better than larger fat balls
Since we started using these 2-3 years ago, we've had masses of long tail tits (which fly in groups) visit our garden at least twice a day in both warmer weather and now in winter. Blue tits also love the fat balls. I'm sure if we put these in an open flat feeder many more bird types would love them, but the squirrel (who leads over the no-squirrel domed guards with ease!) would get there first. Wouldn't be without these now. They need to be stored out of sunlight/heat in summer, though.
Good for Red Kites too!
If you're lucky enough to have Red Kites visiting your garden, these are highly recommended - just the right size for them to grab as they swoop past!
Cant see them for the birds!
I have a lot of different members of the tit family who demolish any food I put out at great speed, throwing any unwanted bits onto the floor for the blackbirds. Bought these and put them in a peanut feeder to try to slow them down a little. Works a treat and the robins and dunnocks have now worked out how to use the feeder so Im getting through as much as I did before. I dont mind as theyre very entertaining!
Best Bird Suet about
These look great and clearly are loved by the birds
So much better than standard fat balls...
Long Tailed Tits swarm to my garden for these. I just use them in a standard ball feeder. I agree with the previous review. Please stock the large tubs. A 2.75kg tub costs just under 10 elsewhere online and with free next day delivery!
Birds love these
All the birds love these, tits and starlings especially. But so expensive to buy 1kg at a time, please Ocado stock the larger tubs?
