History
Koonunga Hill Chardonnay reflects Penfolds multi-region, multi-vineyard blending philosophy, which enables the winemaking team to source the best parcels of fruit to produce consistently high quality wines from each vintage.
Regional Information
Our key viticultural regions include Adelaide, the Barossa Valley, the Clare Valley, Coonawarra, Limestone Coast, and McLaren Vale. Although South Australia provides almost the entire vintage crop, cool climate regions such as Tumbarumba in New South Wales, Henty in southern Victoria and Tasmania, are significant sources for Penfolds white wines. In totality, grapes are sourced from more than 220 vineyards and grape growers across Australia.

Vinification Details
Autumn and winter rainfall was above the long-term average. Rain stopped abruptly in early August with nothing more than light and infrequent showers observed throughout spring. Canopy growth was resultantly halted early in the season, setting up an open canopy structure. Mild days coupled with cool nights provided consistent conditions from late-January through to March, allowing fruit to reach optimal ripeness whilst retaining natural acidity.

Horrible
Vintage is 2022. This has a corked taste, which is weird since it’s a screw top bottle. Does not taste like Chardonnay.

turned quickly and very tangy
Tangy (not in a good way) and turned bad quickly after opening

Very bad this year
I used to love Penfolds chardonnay ,previously it was a treat. This year however it is horrible. very acidic with no depth, and I find it undrinkable. So the bottles I have remaining will be very expensive cooking wine.

nicest chardonnay I've had from ocado so far
Really lovely chardonnay, delicious flavour and way too easy to drink a bottle! 5 stars, favourite choice for a chardonnay
