"Is it even Christmas if you don’t get the Quality Street in? I don’t think so. And I say that even though I’m still in shock at the discontinuation of the topaz-brown-wrapped Toffee Deluxe, my favourite of the lot. I decant mine straight away into a glass jar, the better to enjoy their jewel colours, and then strew them about the place as edible Christmas decorations." Nigella Lawson

What have they done

Used to love quality street and was always on Christmas list but have to say won't be on any future list. Sweet's are disappointing wrappers look bland. Quality of sweets no where as good. Where's the chocolate covered toffee gone ☹️

Dreadful

These chocolates used to signal the beginning of Christmas. However, when the tin was opened, the sight of the new nasty matte wrappings was really disappointing. Even worse was the taste of the chocolates. They are unpleasant and nothing like the originals. I definitely won't be buying them again!

Tin now very small

These are so iconic to have at Christmas and I've bought a tin for so many years. But this year might well be the last. The tin in now half the size of what it used to be and it really expensive. The new wrappers just don't fit the product well. I'm all for recycled wrapping but I know they can do better than this Looks like cost cutting.

A pale imitation of the original Quality Street!

Won't be buying these again as they are now awful. The toffees are soft and the chocolate is too sweet and pasty and not nice and smooth. The coconut ones are dry. None of them are the same. They're all too sweet. The wrappers are horrible now. Children used to love looking through the pretty coloured cellophane wrappers, like stained glass windows, to see how they changed the colours of what was around them in the room. I have been buying Quality Street for probably about 50 years and as Cadbury's Roses went downhill years ago, as the chocolate and fillings have deteriorated, I have always preferred Quality Street. About time the manufacturers started satisfying their customers preferences and not just focusing on profits for their shareholders. In future I shall be buying better quality chocolates.

Pleasure and Magic all gone

Fond memories of the excitement of opening tin of Quality Street and seeing the shiny wrappers glistening Foil is recyclable so why the awful lacklustre paper offering this year? The chocolate may be the same inside but the experience is not the same

The End of An Era

The switch from plastic to paper packaging of course seems to have good intentions. However, the Christmas sparkle and joy is just not there anymore with the new dull wrappers. Couple that with the deteriorating quality of the chocolate and Quality Street may lose many fans. Theyre hardly healthy after all and may no longer be worth it. This annual purchase for a holiday treat and tradition has simply lost its shine! However, no doubt well soon forget how good they once were.
