Needs a little help, but is a good base
Like others have said, it can be a bit bland if you rely on this alone. However, I found that if you add soy sauce and chili oil, you can really bring out the flavours a lot. Will buy again, but just make sure it's not the only flavouring you use!
Good flavour
A little bit too spicy for me, but a really nice flavour.
Disappointing
We bought this as the Blue Dragon version has been out of stock for months - sadly it's nowhere near as good, with a gelatinous texture and no real flavour other than heat.
Tasty
Got this as a substitute for sweet and sour sauce and it's really nice pretty spicy. Just ordered more.
tasteless
szechuan is my favourite Chinese, I was so excited when I got this sauce after reading all positive reviews... cooked it and yuck! couldn't even finish it... (and I don't waste food normally even if not great)...
Lacks Depth of Flavour
Tangy and mildly spicy but not much else going on.
