Not great

Thought this might be worth checking out as it was on offer. It cooks rice ok but not exactly anything revolutionary.....You can only cook 250g at once based on the amount of water you add, to prevent over spillage so this is really a single serving. This is the same amount as the microwave pouches containing rice you cook in 2 minutes... You may as well just use them.... It's a big container to store just to cook one portion of rice... Not over impressed to be honest.

One of my favorite purchases ever

I used to hate making rice, it would always boil over or stick to the bottom of the saucepan. But then I discovered this steamer and it's PERFECT, fits well in the fridge if there's leftovers, washes well in the dishwasher, doesn't create any mess and makes perfect rice every time.

Great! saves time and money.

it isn't a bad design! i have cooked all different rices with no problem. sometimes its a bit of experimenting but it never comes out horrendous. Basmati is perfect as is normal straight forward rice. Ive done long grain and added and extra min to cook more. no water should be left if you have done it correctly. easy to clean by hand or top shelf dishwasher.

excellent.

This is an excellent product, perfect rice everytime. just a side note though from a past review, if you have water left after the rice is cooked, you're cooking the rice wrong.

Good

I like this, it cooks rice very well, I found I need to leave the rice to sit for 5 minutes or so after cooking to fully cook through and absorb the water properly. So if you just leave it in the microwave for this period you don't need to strain and the steam is less hazardous.

bad design

Would not recommend this rice cooker. No sieve so if theres still liquid left after cooking you have to use another sieve to get rid of the excess liquid. Burns your hand with steam when you take it out of the microwave.
