With our own vessels we catch mackerel in the winter season when the fish is at premium quality before hand-filleting and curing in our South Devon smokehouse. I received a pack that was above average weight, not a single bone, not even a tiny one (which can be safely eaten anyway). Super fish love the mix of peppered and plain. I made pate with the plain. Once the pack was opened, I was peckish!, two fillets disappeared before dinner!
