No more clogged up pipes!
I think these are brilliant,. Our pipes and under-sink traps (we have a double sink) used to block up constantly, and they don’t any more. Yes, the holes in the strainer do clog up, but that means stuff isn’t going down the plug hole. We are lucky in having an outside tap and drain, which makes it easier to deal with that. I knock the bits that are caught in the strainer into the waste bin, and run it under the tap to get rid of the last little bits. You could run water through it into a saucepan and tip that down the toilet, if you have a downstairs one. It’s a bit more work but it’s worth it for us not having to call out the drains people.
Too effective
Literally everything gets stuck in this meaning the sink does not drain at all if anything remotely gritty goes in there.
Terrible
Probably doesn't do what you want. Stops your sink draining more effectively than a plug!
dreadful
Immediately becomes clogged up with bits from the sink (the only effective way to clean it out again is to dishwasher in as they just cling/stick). This stops the sink draining. Its like putting a fine mesh tea strainer in the sink and thinking thatll do the job - it wont
Looks okay, but thats where it ends
I got it for the kitchen sink and it is more aesthetically pleasing, but water takes ages to drain away and it is difficult to empty the bits into the bin. Much prefer the white plastic ones.
Measure your sink drain first
It did fit my kitchen sink although I bought this for my bathroom sink! It is really well-made and does the job. One just needs to be certain about the measurement.
