This tea has flourished from humble beginnings - Japanese peasants used to mix green tea with toasted rice to make it go further. It is now celebrated in its own right as Genmaicha tea, or Popcorn tea. "Sugar Puffs in a cup" - a truly unique blend with an almost nutty undertone.

Our tea temples:
We use quality whole leaf only, not the dust found in regular tea bags; whole leaf is best. A tea worthy of worship belongs in our biodegradable "tea temple" - our spacious, transparent mesh bag allowing maximum room for perfect infusion.
We only use big whole leaves. No dust. Big leaves = Big flavour, simple.
100% natural. No artificial flavourings.

New favorite
If youve ever tried buckwheat tea, this one has a very similar taste. Love it!
Best, best genmaicha!
I have tried various genmaichas and this is my favourite by far. Nothing else compares. A staple.
Amazingly delicious
These cost a lot - but are very tasty and the best genmaicha I have found. Like the packaging and the branding
Burnt? Bad batch?
I bought this tea based on the reviews. Not sure if I had a bad batch, but mine smelt and tasted of burnt popcorn. Not pleasant.
good Japanese style tea
Nice Japanese style tea. I really like the toasted smell and taste. The product name popcorn tea is a bit confusing.
Just like genmaicha!
This tea has a beautiful savoury, toasted flavour and tastes just like authentic Japanese genmaicha! Lovely to sip on in between meals and keeps the urge to snack at bay as well. I should add that it has somewhat of an acquired taste as have given this to some friends and not all were fans.
