Product information

Our landscape wines come from inland vineyards which are hot and baked, parched and dry, where only drought resistant grapes can thrive, searching deep into the soil to soak up nutrients, and truly expressing the terroir.

Landscape Grenache Blanc flourished in the heart of the wheat belt region of Swartland, where the hot dry shale soils give the wine a pithy texture. Hints of jasmine and peach stone aromas make this perfect with braai baked chicken tagine.

History
A contemporary cultivar to South Africa which enjoys the region's Atlantic breezes and drought, even. Known for its influence in the Languedoc region of the southern Rhône, its impact in SA will be felt as a sustainable grape variety and also for its unique exciting and botanical appeal. Grenache Blanc is a super sensual variety with a strange and pithy otherness. Ripe stone fruit, jasmine and guava abound on the nose and the palate is underpinned by Swartland's bright sandy texture.

Very drinkable!

Really lovely wine. Found it lurking in the back of the wine fridge and assumed it was a bottle of plonk we’d picked up in a meal deal. We weren’t expecting much but my word what a surprise! Really delicious taste and very drinkable.

Too strong & dry for my taste

I found this to be a very dry wine, and the alcohol overpowered any aromas. I do tend to prefer a more floral wine such as viognier though, so maybe this grape variety just isn't for me. The alcohol percentage is surprising. Normally good white wines are slightly stronger than reds, at around 13%, but at over 14% I feel this is a bit overpowering. I couldn't finish drinking this so ended up using the remainder for a pasta sauce and risotto, where it still dominated the other flavours!

Love this!

It doesn't taste like it's 14.5 ABV, but absolutely love this. Only downside is that I really shouldn't drink as much, given the ABV! Fruity and quite innocent tasting - beware! I've ordered another 6 bottles as it's on special offer.....
