Gigantes are giant butter beans, baked in a rich tomato sauce with dill, parsley and plenty of extra virgin olive oil. The beans are slow cooked in the oven for several hours to create levels of delicious flavour. This is a traditional Greek recipe that has been cooked in homes for many generations. Can be enjoyed straight from the jar as part of a Greek meze. Also enjoy gently heated with crumbled feta over the top.

Very impressed!

Something I love to have in Cyprus or Greece but not tried here. These were surprisingly good and we polished them off very quickly. Just missing the sunshine!

Eat in one sitting

Not for everyone but I find these totally delicious. The strong dill taste reminds me of Greek holidays. I've started taking jars into work for a posh beans on toast (with bit of feta on top). Very satisfying and a million times better than the usual Meal Deal sandwich.

Tasty beans.

These giant butter beans really are delicious. The sauce is very tasty and the giant beans just melt in your mouth. Very filling and healthy. Just ordered some more.

A complete meal

These have become a staple of my food cupboard. Richer and more special than baked beans, they go with anything, and enhance a baked potato especially well.

Versatile

These plump tender butterbeans are just wonderful with a dollop of Sweet Baby Ray's honey BBQ sauce for quick pit beans, as an accompaniment to chipotle marinated Tex Mex steak and spicy potato wedges. Or mixed with Geeta's mango chutney and spritzed with fresh lemon juice, for a sublime curry veggie side dish.
