History
Brent Marris, Marlborough born and raised, spent years as a youngster exploring the landscape of his home region. He put that exploration to good use when, in 2003, he started his search for a vineyard property. The site he chose was 268ha of vineyards on the banks of the Waihopai River, on the southern side of the Wairau Valley. From here, Brent started Marisco Vineyards and achieved international success with his wines, most notably with his flagship brand ¿The Ned¿.
Regional Information
New Zealand's flagship wine region which, in combination with Sauvignon Blanc, put the country on the international wine stage. Much more than just Sauvignon though, Marlborough offers increasing depth in both varieties and terroir.

Vinification Details
Juice from gently pressed whole berries was fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to retain fruit expression and aromatic purity. After fermentation the wine was blended and left on light lees to build texture, while maintaining freshness. This wine is a blend of select vineyard parcels from both the upper and lower terraces, with each component contributing different aspects of Sauvignon expression.

Bland, bland, bland.

This was a very disappointing Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. I would have thought it was a Chilean version, which tend not to have the distinctive gooseberry tang of its cousin. Drank it but would never choose it again.

crisp and fresh

We received this for review and opened at Christmas. Great option for a good SB, fresh and clean on the pallet with a crisp taste.

not the best SB

I was fortunate to receive this free from Ocado in return for an honest review. Although (obviously) I was very happy to consume it, I didnt love it. It tasted quite sharp and too heavy on elderflower for my personal taste. It was ok, but I prefer other SBs so wouldnt choose to buy.

Aromatic

Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I like the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wines, so this was a treat to review (and arrived in perfect time for my birthday!). It had a lovely aromatic, slightly dry, flavour which I really liked. Very refreshing. Served chilled, it would be a perfect wine to share with friends on a summer day.

Gooseberry!

I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I really enjoyed this wine. It had a clear and distinct gooseberry aroma which was refreshing. It is quite a dry wine, tastes of gooseberry, citrus fruit and pear and has a lovely lingering aftertaste. I would get it again.
