The Best Rice!
This is my absolute favourite Tilda rice. It is great for me as it is a smaller portion, and as such I don't waste any. It goes so well with green lentils, for a filling mild curry. I wish Tilda would make some of their other rice products in this size pouch, such as the coriander and lime.
not a huge hit over here
Tasted ok to Me, a little sweet, but my kid who usually loves most foods wasnt a fan.
Not just for kids!
I like to have a stockpile of various Tilda Kids packs for when I need a quick solo lunch, as they are just the right size for one, when accompanying other things. This one has a very mild flavour and I quite like the stodginess of it! Had it today accompanying a bit of quiche and some sweetcorn. As an adult you will need to add something just to up the flavour a bit more, but these are a good standby to go with a quick meal.
Gloopy and Stodgy
I bought this for the kids to try (6, 8) following the positive reviews but sadly neither of them liked it. I have to say Im with them as I tried a mouthful and found it to be very stodgy with all the rice stuck together in some kind of soggy congealed mess. I wasnt a fan of the overcooked veg either. To be fair though, I find all flavoured packet rice are a bit hit or miss so I need to be less lazy and make my own!
The best convenience food for kids
Both my 4 year old and 1 year old absolutely love this rice, I'm not surprised - it's tasty. My 1 year old is currently in quarantine due to COVID at nursery whilst we are working from home. Combined with scrambled egg and tinned sweetcorn, this has been our go to 5 minute lunch. Only wish there were a few more flavours.
Good standby
I always add extra veg to this - either leftovers or cooked frozen and then stir fry with a little oil and a beaten egg to make it a full meal. Great as a standby meal for little kids - husband usually sneaks a few spoonfuls as well.
