Tilda Wild Rice 250g

Known as the 'caviar of grains' this deliciously nutty grain is actually an aquatic grass highly prized by North Americans for centuries. Giant Wild Rice is higher in protein than most other wholegrains and is at its best when the grains are allowed to pop or "flower' open during cooking, releasing the distinctive smoky aroma.
This versatile rice adds contrast and bite to give that special something to salads, stuffings or casseroles. So whether you are planning a gourmet dinner to impress or looking for a luxurious twist to your show stopping pilaf, you are in good hands with us.

Preparation and Usage
Instructions
1. Place 120g of Giant Wild Rice in a large saucepan and add 450ml of boiling water.
2. Return to the boil, cover and simmer for 45-50 minutes until the grains have popped.
3. Take off the heat and keep the pan covered for a further 5 minutes then fork through the grains. We like to add a knob of butter, or drizzle with olive oil.
To shorten the cooking time, cover generously in boiling water and soak overnight. Drain and cook as above using 300ml of water for 20 minutes.

takes an eon to cook but worth the wait
This is such nice rice. Infinitely better than white rice. But it takes a long long long time to cook
Great
This is really good rice. Love it.
Yum
Love this wild rice. Once cooled I mix with, peppers, spring onions, mango and herbs for a delicious rice salad
Really bad
This rice needs to be cooked for 50 minutes and ends up all split up. Doesn’t have a great taste.
A-Mazing
Been looking for wild rice like this for ages. I just made the most amazingly nutrition packed wild rice salad with quinoa. I just have to share the recipe: Seeds of Change Organic Quinoa & Wholegrain Rice 240g Tilda Giant Wild Rice 250gr Chic peas, 1/2 cup 4 vine ripened tomatoes 1 avocado, diced Toasted Sunflower & Pumpkin Seeds 50gr Approx 15 Greek Pitted Kalamata Olives, sliced Small tin of corn 1 Pink Lady Apple, diced Light Salad Cheese or feta cheese, diced 50gr walnut pieces 50gr toasted almond flakes Mix it all together in a large bowl and enjoy. Sometimes I might add a bit of honey and mustard dressing but I only added to that portion which I am having not to the whole thing.
Great flavour
Love the nutty flavour to the rice
