The Marriage Family
W & H Marriage & Sons Ltd has been milling flour in Essex since 1824.
Marriage's was founded by twins William and Henry nearly 200 years ago. Today the fifth and sixth generations of the Marriage family continue the milling tradition. We source the best wheat, much of it from farmers within 30 miles of Chelmer Mills (pictured above), including our own arable farms. When necessary, we add quality international wheats into our grists.
Our flour is produced using a combination of the traditional techniques we have trusted for generations and the best modern milling technology.
Marriage's Range includes Organic, Speciality and Stoneground flours.

beautiful flour
This is such a great flour, fine but has subtle nutty texture that enhances the taste, highly recommend.
Great for pastry
This, plus Stork vegan baking block makes the best shortcrust pastry, really comes up as fine as sand when rubbed together.
Best wholemeal flour.
I couldn't believe it was wholegrain as the muffins we baked came out as smooth as using plain flour. Just purchased again!
Good all rounder
Agree with the other reviewer that this is perfect for almost everything. I use this is all my cakes, naans, pittas, crumble, all sorts. Very smooth and not at all gritty like some wholemeal flours. Gives a lovely subtle flavour. I rarely buy white flour these days.
Perfect for pretty much everything
I love this flour. I'm now using it instead of white flour for pretty much everything: cakes, pancakes, pizza dough, bechamel sauce, to thicken gravy etc. and it does the job wonderfully.
Excellent baking flour
I've been trying to eat more healthily, so was seeking a wholemeal flour to replace the unwholesome plain white. This is a fantastic discovery: just as good in texture and flavour, with added glow of nutritional benefit.
