Disappointing
I noticed sand on some leaves so cleaned the leeks thoroughly,almost leaf by leaf, but the dish was still full of very fine grit. Would not buy these again

Horribly gritty
Even after halving and properly cleaning, these remain gritty and nasty. Good for budgies to grind in their beaks perhaps.

Sand? Grit?
Prepared as usual and washed thoroughly BUT tiny bits of grit / sand remained. Upon reflection I would have needed to almost 'destroy' the leek to clean it. Not for us!

Very good quality and taste
I normally don't buy baby veg but leeks at this season are very large and can be bitter. These are wonderfully sweet and tasty, eaten braised, fried, steamed or in a stir fry. I'd just like to know where they are sourced to avoid excessive food miles. Re earlier moaners, no sign of any sand or grit and if I ate any there was no ill effect. What is the problem with washing them, anyway? I always wash everything. And why is a semicolon an invalid character in the Ocado review system?
