A Middle Eastern twist to the classic meatball.

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion
  • 4 tsp Bart Baharat Blend
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 4 tomatoes
  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 small bunch parsley
  • 1 small bunch coriander
  • 1 drizzle olive oil , for the salad
  • 1 dash red wine vinegar
  • 4 flat breads
  • 4 tbsp natural yogurt

Method

Step 1

Grate the onion into a bowl, add the mince, seasoning, garlic paste, a squeeze of lemon juice and season. Use your hands to mix and squidge everything together. Form 16 small meatballs, compressing them together in your hands as you make them, so they don’t fall apart when cooking.

Step 2

Set the oven to low and pop in the flat breads to warm. Dust a plate with seasoned flour and roll the meatballs in it to give them a thin coating all over. Heat the oil and cook the meatballs, turning regularly to brown on all sides.

Step 3

While the meatballs are cooking, chop the tomatoes and cucumber into chunks, toss with the herb leaves and dress with a little oil, vinegar, salt & pepper.

Step 4

To serve put some salad on a flat bread top with meatballs, drizzle over the yogurt and top with a squeeze of lemon.
