Adding a generous slug of cider transforms these tasty pork chops into a delectable dinner dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 2 large bramley apples
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 1 large red onions
  • 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 tbsp blended olive oil
  • 4 pork chops
  • 250ml strong dry cider

Method

Step 1

Heat the oil in a large frying pan and cook the onion and apples until softened. Add the chops and cook for about 10-15 minutes, depending on thickness, turning once until cooked through.

Step 2

Remove the chops and keep warm while you make the sauce. Sprinkle the flour over the apples and onions and mix. Add the cider a little at a time stirring all the time until thickened and bubbling.

Step 3

Stir in the mustard and remove from the heat. Serve spooned over the chops and sprinkled with thyme leaves.
