A special tipple created by food events and comedy duo Maria Georgiou and Rhiannon Butler, aka Mam Sham, this Cold-brew Negroni Spritz balances bittersweet Campari with earthy coffee and a hint of thyme. It’s perfect as an ice breaker for a Valentine’s date, served alongside Mam Sham’s Valentine’s Day dinner menu of Saucy Butter Chicken and Apple Crumble Pie.

  • 50ml Cinzano
  • 50ml Campari
  • 2 tsp agave syrup
  • 75ml cold brew coffee
  • 4 thyme sprigs
  • 2 splashes soda water
  • 2 pieces pared orange zest, to serve


Step 1

In a clean lidded jar or cocktail shaker, shake the Cinzano, Campari, agave syrup, coffee and half the thyme with ice for 10 secs to chill. Strain into glasses (discarding the thyme) and add a splash of soda water to each glass.

Step 2

Twist the orange zest over the drinks to release its aroma, then drop into the glasses and garnish with the remaining thyme.
