Doves Farm Heritage Wholegrain Flour is made up of a mixture of older wheat varieties.

Soda bread is one of the easiest breads to make on an oven tray or in a tin.

Ingredients

  • 500g Wholegrain Flour, plus around 3 tbsp for dusting
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Doves Farm Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 450ml milk

Method

Step 1

Mix together the flour, salt, cream of tartar and bicarbonate of soda.

Step 2

Add just enough milk to mix a soft, slightly sticky, dough. Shape the dough into a ball, dusting with a little extra flour if necessary.

Step 3

Place the dough on an oiled baking tray.

Step 4

Bake in a preheated oven at 180C/160 Fan/Gas 4 for 35-40 minutes.
