Ingredients

  • 1 dessertspoon sunflower oil
  • 4 pork loin steaks , around 100g each
  • 2 eating apples, cored and cut into slices
  • 2 shallots , peeled and thinly sliced
  • 275ml cider
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 100g Light Philadelphia

Method

Step 1

Heat the oil in a non stick frying pan. Add the pork and fry for a few minutes on either side until golden brown. Remove from pan.

Step 2

Add the apple slices to the pan and cook for a couple of minutes until browned. Remove from pan and place with the pork.

Step 3

Add the shallots and sage to the pan, with a little more oil if necessary. Cook for several minutes until softened.

Step 4

Add the cider then return the pork and apples to the pan.

Step 5

Simmer gently for about 5 minutes or until the pork is cooked through.

Step 6

Remove the pork and apples using a slotted spoon and place in a warm serving dish.

Step 7

Stir the Philly into the cider mixture in the pan and heat, stirring, until melted.

Step 8

Season to taste and pour over the pork and apples.

Step 9

Serve with fresh vegetables of your choice.
