Mackerel Pate with Blinis

Either served as an impressive starter or a quick snack, this pate is incredibly quick to make and will even go in the freezer for another day!.

    Place the onion in a blender and whizz until finely chopped. Add the mackerel fillets, and cream cheese and blend to a smooth paste. Add in the lemon juice one tablespoon at a time and lastly add the chives to the mix. Serve immediately on warm blinis with parsley to garnish and more chives


  • 12 cocktail blinis
  • 1 peppered mackerel fillet, cooked
  • 300g cream cheese
  • 1 packet fresh chives , roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 small red onion , red adds a touch of colour but not essential
