Delicious
Love this stuff, added it to dishes like bolognese, cottage pie and chilli etc. Also decided to try it with toast and butter...addictive.
Adds a tasty edge to lots of dishes
I add this to my tomato pasta sauce and lentil dal. It adds a tasty flavour but is not overwhelming. Lovely stuff.
Lift in flavour
I was given thus to review and wasn’t sure where to use it. However the paste lifted the flavour of my ragu. Not sure I’d want to use it always though.
Very subtle flavour
Was sent this free by Ocado to review. I am a spice junkie so found this a bit on the mild side flavourwise. If your tastebuds are less damaged than mine, then you may be able to detect it in your cooking! It was wasted on me.
Just so-so!
I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. It's taken me a long while to post their review because I've been looking for somewhere to try it, There are a lot of places where I'd use an OXO cube, Lea and Perrins, etc and I just never remembered to use this instead. This stuff works but you can get similar flavours elsewhere.
Useful ingredient
This was a sample from Ocado for review. I often add a teaspoon of Marmite to chilli and casseroles to supplement the beef stock I use so I thought I’d try this instead. It worked very well adding an appropriate yet undefinable savoury note. I expect it will work well in a stir fry. I would buy again.
