Berberana is now no longer just Rioja, Berberana is Spain. Expanding from our home in Rioja Alta, we started producing wines from Vino de la Tierra de Castilla and D.O. Catalunya. In late 2013 we merged brands with one of the largest Cava producers in Spain, moving all wines from the Marques de Monistrol brand name to Monistrol by Berberana.

strong overpowering eucalyptus
Strong overpowering eucalyptus is not to my taste, I don't remember these wines being like this on may spanish road trips. Medium bodied with balanced acitiy some and blueberry notes...
Vivino users pay only £4.61!!!
This is shown as £13.61 before discount. On Vivino average price paid is £4.61. Ocado I keep seeing examples of this. I am not impressed!!
worth a try
Some bottles were smooth, others more bitter but not bad at all.
Horrible
I'm sure I've enjoyed this before. But I opened the first bottle and I thought it was off. Opened the second and it seems to be about the same. I'd request a refund, but I don't think it's off, I think it's just terrible wine. It's a shame I bought 4 bottles...
A very poor offering
Horrible. Sour, bitter, thin. A half price offer suggested an attractive offer on something tasty - in fact it’s a dumping of something that’s truly unpleasant. It would be overpriced at a tenth of the price. Marketed as ‘a Taste of Spain’ - if this is what Spain tastes like it’ll be a long time before I go there!
Loaded with sediment!
I have bought two bottles of this recently. On different shops too. And both were undrinkable. Good thing I generally decant first because I was disgusted by what I saw at the bottom. Wine tasted strange and coupled with the 1/8 of the bottle still filled with sediment, I just chucked it out. Waste! Quality control needed.
