Berberana is now no longer just Rioja, Berberana is Spain. Expanding from our home in Rioja Alta, we started producing wines from Vino de la Tierra de Castilla and D.O. Catalunya. In late 2013 we merged brands with one of the largest Cava producers in Spain, moving all wines from the Marques de Monistrol brand name to Monistrol by Berberana.

smooth
Very nice, smooth tasty wine. Fairly light for a Rioja. Balanced.
Vile!
We have had a lot of bottles of Berberana over the past few years, usually they are pretty decent in quality. Unfortunately this was in fact really awful, like vinegar it was so sour and sharp, my husband said it was the worst wine he had ever tasted. It went down the sink. We couldn't even ask for a refund as the refund window on the order is now closed. Glad I only bought one, total waste of money.
Nice, but . . .
The wine tasted like a quality wine (casual drinker no wine expert!) however there was a LOT of sediment/crystals in the bottom of the bottle that of course makes its way to your glass. Is this acceptable as I have never encountered it before (I normally buy £8 - £12 bottles)
Poor quality
I know it was reduced in price, but even so it should have been drinkable. I had two bottles the first was corked and the second had a huge amount of crystallised sediment in the bottom.
not for me
I did enjoy the flavour of this wine until we neared the end. Way too much sediment for me which totally put me off and will stop me from buying again.
worst purchase
one of the worst wine I ever had..leaves an awful taste and I got a hangover after one glass.
