Slowly cooked chopped onions, carrots, celery and garlic in extra virgin olive oil with tomato pulp and tomato puree.  Added to this are three organic seasonal vegetables (courgettes, aubergines, peppers), giving a fresh, authentic taste of homemade sauce.

I bought this pasta sauce 2yrs ago and hadn't opened it until the other day...WOW! absolutely FABULOUS...So have JUST purchased again..a true taste of the wonderful Italia...thankyou Ocado..very much indeed..I will keep on buying on a more regular basis after trying it!

Lovely but expensive

We really enjoyed this sauce but just can't justify the £5.50 proce tag. Will stock up if it comes on special. Oh and just twist the lid!

Just Twist the Paper Lid

I think the paper lid is to ensure less breakage in transit. If you twist it, it comes off fairly easily. I'm not sure what the other people leaving reviews were doing. I love this sauce! It has such depth of flavour and is good on its own or as a base for something else you're cooking. I'm giving the Arrabbiata a go next. It's great for keeping in the cupboard if you just want to put something together, and it appears to be much more healthy than other similar products.

Terrible packaging

The cardboard packaging around the lid is impossible to remove. Unable to remove with my hands, I tried to lever it off with a knife and it broke end of knife! Shame, the sauce was really nice (eventually) but I won't buy again it was too difficult to get into.

Good sauce, unnecessary packaging

The sauce is lovely and tasty. However, though the cardboard packaging looks classy - it isn't easy to remove and also unnecessary. We'll be sticking to a less posh-looking, cheaper sauce.
