More bland and over\-hyped vegan brand!
I am getting increasingly disillusioned with over-hyped and often over-priced vegan offerings which actually just aren't very nice! This description had me rolling my eyes: "Dark, decadent, and oozing with spices, this gluten free dish is brimming with tender urad lentils, kidney bean." I found it beyond bland, very thin and with undercooked beans in (and I usually prefer undercooked to mushy!) The oozing spices were clearly in hiding. Meh. It shouldn't be this hard to produce quality vegan food.
quite bland
I bought this for my daughter to try. she says it's ok but not enough flavour, but a comforting food.
Disappointingly poor
I enjoy a black daal so I was looking forward to this but it really disappointed. The lentils were significantly undercooked and were in a fairly thin sauce. The whole thing was also quite bland - it seemed to be lacking in everything that should give it flavour, not enough garlic, spices, ginger, salt... I wouldn't buy this again.
healthy but bland
Very bland and uninspiring- I fried some sliced chilli and garlic and an egg to top it. 30g fibre is impressive with the egg its 30g protein.. not bad for veggie meal..
Delicious
Another amazing BOL one pot meal! Definitely a fave this one. Great flavour and texture, good hearty meal. Perfect for a quick easy nutritious meal. Delicious :)
nice but mild
Although the spices are pleasantly fragrant they arent at all strong. I would buy this again but doctor it up with cayenne, cumin, garlic and tomato puree to give it more body. Nice for a change and decently substantial.
