Product information
This wine is made from Cabernet Franc, more commonly found in Bordeaux, and, much like fine Bordeaux, is matured slowly. Gently fragrant on the nose, it shows more expression on the palate where the flavours of blackberry and black plum are underpinned by attractive tobacco notes. As the wine breathes, it reveals great fruit intensity and the aromas of maquis that are so distinctive to the Léoube vineyard. Structured and classically proportioned, this is a ¿vin de garde¿ that could easily develop for a further 5 to 10 years. |

Cabernet Franc
History
Château Léoube is one of the oldest and most well established vineyards in Provence with soils dating back millions of years. The estate is certified organic and the wine range is biodynamic.
Regional Information
Since Cabernet Franc is not listed as a Côte de Provence grape variety, Collector is categorised as Vin de France. The estate enjoys a Mediterranean climate where the vines are cooled by sea breezes giving the wines a distinct seabord salinity in the finish.
Current Vintage
2015
Vinification Details
The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed in the winery, followed by 20-25 days maceration. Natural alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel using indigenous yeast with full malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 24 months in demi-muid French oak before resting in bottles prior to release.
