Tasting Notes
Deep cherry-red and maroon tones. The nose is intense and complex with sweet notes of vanilla, spice and ripe fruit which follows through to the palate. Well structured and elegant with good acidity, leading to a warming, sweet, ripe fruity finish.

Not as good as before
This wine has long been one of our firm favourites, however this last few times we have been rather disappointed, aside from a bottle that was corked, we have found the Faustino 1 recently to be much less complex, less body and less oak on the palate. Not the special treat that it was. Perhaps just a bad year??

shallow depth for price
I thought this had a thin taste and not the heavy number expected.

so disappointing
I bought this wine for Christmas Day lunch. I have had the Faustino V several times and loved it but this was so disappointing. It is average at best but lacked any real depth or liveliness that I would expect from a Rioja.
