Good & Proper Tea - Loose Leaf Sencha Green Tea 40g
£8
£20 per 100gProduct information
Unlike most Senchas which are grown in full sun, this particular example is shaded for 18 days before plucking, making it more akin to a Gyokuro - a style of steamed green tea widely considered to be Japan's finest. This unique shading process brings out the tea's rich, characteristic umami flavour, as well as more sweetness. The dark, silky leaves produce a vibrant green cup with a fresh, spring-like aroma and smooth, delicately sweet finish. Reinfuse up to 3 times.

Brewing Tea Properly
When it comes to making a delicious cup of tea, there is no doubt that loose leaf will always be best - the leaves need space to spread out, unfurl and release their full flavour. For the best possible cup every time, use freshly-drawn, filtered water to fill your kettle, take care with how much tea you add to your pot, and give the leaves time to do their thing before straining into a cup.

Way over priced
There are other reviewers complaining about the price and the deceptive packaging size, and I totally agree. The tea is pleasant, but nothing special, which makes it way over priced for what it is. Some special green teas can be very expensive, but this is not it. For comparable grade, Tea Pig’s organic Mao Feng loose tea sold on Ocado is a slightly different green tea, but in my view at least equally nice in its own way, and is priced at £4 per 75g. That’s about one quarter of the price of this one per gramme. If you must have Sencha, there are pretty decent ones on Amazon for a quarter of this price too.
Nice tea, ludicrously over-sized packaging
Nice taste but when you open the box you will find a tiny packet of tea. Not worth the price at around £1 a cup
Super fresh green tea
Wonderfully smooth, delicate and super fresh. It made me want to go to Japan
Turned me into a green tea fan
I wasn't a fan of green but i tried this at their tea bar in London. It's so different, with a fresh, smooth taste and a little sweetness.
My new favourite green tea
I was surprised by how savoury this green tea was but I've grown to absolutely love it. You can also keep using the leaves with multiple infusions so although its a bit more money you get a lot of cups for your bucks
Vibrant cup
Brought back memories of being in Japan. Really smooth, sweet and fresh.
