Grumpy Mule Organic Colombia Ground Coffee 227g

These beans are grown straddling Huila and Tolima departments, in the foothills of Colombia's highest volcano, Nevada del Huila. Up in the mountains, here, everything is a little bit darker. They might be washed in the mountain waters and sun dried - but it's too late. That deep flavour is already in. You don't have to sit in a room with the curtains drawn to enjoy it, but dang, why not? Might just be the best way to experience how the gentle tang of red fruits and apple cuts through the hazelnut and caramel.

Storage
Store away from direct sunlight and any strong odours - these beans have had enough sun thank you very much. And don't even think about putting it in the fridge.

Preparation and Usage
(A Quick Brewing Guide)
1. Choose your Weapon
Grumpy Mule coffees are suitable for use in a wide range of brewing equipment. For espresso machines, finely grind your beans or choose espresso grind for best results.
2. Load Up
Use 2 heaped dessertspoonfuls (those big ones your mum only had out for special occasions) of fresh, ground coffee per cup. If you want to be a nerd about it that's 15g per 250ml of coffee.
Espresso heads, a good dose for our coffee is 14-18g per double shot with an extraction time of about 27 seconds. Just don't count mississipily (watch friends, it'll make sense).
3. Fire!
Allow heated water to come off the boil (about 93-95°) before pouring. It's just enough time to tweet a pic of the pack at a jaunty angle. Serve the coffee immediately once brewed.

But he's not really that type. The mere sight of robusta beans or instant coffee crumples his brow and clenches his jaw.
After all, good coffee is never a matter of taking it easy - flavour doesn't just 'turn up'. It needs to be cultivated by expert growers. Coaxed by obsessive roasters, and given the 'hooves up' by the fussiest critic there is.

Smooth tasting coffee.
I was sent this as a freebie and Im so glad I did! Its the nicest ground coffee Ive ever had and Im perplexed as to why there are so many mixed reviews. I use an aerator and a Melitta cremio milk froth and it is so nice. This is my new favourite having tried many.
strange taste
Taste difficult to describe but not pleasant.
Delicious coffee and only one I now buy
This is the best coffee I've tried. I make it using a moka pot and serve with frothy oat milk. Great that it's organic too!
My favourite
Love the brand, and this is my favourite roast they do. It's got a well-rounded flavour profile and it quite rich without being bitter or too strong.
Very bland. Made me grumpy
Imagine the taste that the manufacturer describes and then invert it. If this is considered to be a strong flavoured coffee, I wouldn't care to drink any of their milder offerings.
Delicious coffee
This is the best tasting coffee I've come across. The key to getting it right is ensuring the right ratio of hot water to coffee - for 2 cups I use 3 tbsp and that creates a beautiful creme on the top. The other coffees in the range are also nice, but this one is my favourite and I order it every week. My only request is that the packaging is switched to recyclable material!
