Preparation and Usage
For the most delicious curry, you want about 1/4 of a jar of paste per person. Why not try marinating your meat, fish or tofu in some of the paste before cooking for extra flavour?
For a meat or veg curry, heat a splash of oil, then add the paste and diced meat or roughly chopped root veg, and fry for about 5 minutes, before adding tomatoes, passata or coconut milk with a splash of stock to make your sauce. Stir in pulses if using, and simmer until tender and cooked through, stirring in leafy or delicate veg for the last few minutes. Ensure food is piping hot throughout before serving.
For a fish, prawn or tofu curry, put a splash of oil in a hot pan, add the paste and fry for 20 seconds. Stir in tomatoes, passata or coconut milk with a splash of stock to make your sauce. When the sauce is simmering and tasting delicious, add chunks of fish or tofu, or prawns and any leafy or delicate veg, and simmer until tender and cooked through. Ensure piping throughout before serving.
To give it a veg boost, stir a handful of frozen peas or spinach into your sauce for the last few minutes.
Why Not Try
Recipes
Marinate fish fillets, chicken steaks or lamb chops for the barbecue
Fish and meat will soak up the rich flavours of the paste beautifully. Rub some into raw meat/fish, leave for 30 minutes in the fridge - or overnight for maximum flavour - then grill.
Spice up roast potatoes
After parboiling potatoes, toss them with enough paste to lightly coat before roasting for next-level flavour.
Brush over cauliflower wedges before roasting
Simply brush over some of the paste to coat, roast the cauli for about half an hour or until tender, then serve in the centre of the table with daal, rice, crunchy leaf salad and plenty of raita.
Add a bit of punch to a cheese toastie
Try this and you'll never look back! Just spread a little paste on the inside of your bread before layering up and toasting for a wonderful flavour kick.

Delicious
I cooked this in the slow cooker with prawns. Added a tin of tomatoes, some puree and coconut milk and my curry loving husband said it was the best curry Ive ever made. It was tangy and spicy hot.
Weird texture
This paste had a weird texture and was quite spicy considering it was supposed to be Keralan flavour. It didnt blend in very well with my dish so for those reasons, I wouldnt purchase it again.
Delicious
Tasted delicious in a chicken curry with red peppers and spinach simmered in coconut milk. Tasted fresh and zingy. Using 3/4 of the jar with 1 tin of coconut milk Id say it was mild to moderate in terms of spice.
Too hot and tangy
Unfortunately too hot for us and had a horrible tangy flavour from the Vinegar ingredient which is definitely not authentic.
Sooooo delicious!
Looks like a homemade chunky paste - not full of oil like other pastes! Really fresh and zesty flavours and can be used to make curry or to enhance a variety of dishes. I made a vegetable frittata and added 1.5 tbs of this paste and it was absolutely delicious. Can also be used to brush on salmon, chicken etc. Definately a versatile paste to have in the kitchen.
Great flavours
Taste great although some may feel it has a bit too much of a lime tang however if you do feel that, i suggest adding some coconut milk to balance the flavours. I had it with chicken and it tasted brilliant. Would recommend this paste.
