Light chocolate \x2770s taste
Was curious to try this after loving Jude's vegan caramel but hating their low calorie vegan chocolate. This offering has an old-fashioned, light chocolate taste with brownie pieces so tiny you have to remind yourself they're there. I'd argue the ice cream tastes smoother and more chocolatey than the Ben & Jerry's version, but B&J's chunks win hands-down for texture, size and flavour in the brownie department. If you're after a rich, dark chocolate flavour then Hackney Gelato's plant-based chocolate & Beau's chocolate/chocolate chip are both deeper and stronger than either, but I'd definitely buy this again for an 'instant whip' type hit of summery sweetness that takes me straight back to the ice cream 'blocks' and instant whip of the '70s
A nice chocolately hit...
This definitely delivers a nice chocolately hit, but as a fan of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie vegan ice cream, this doesn't quite hit the mark on the brownie front. Depends how you like your brownie ice cream - if it's about the icecream, this is nice, but if it's about discovering squidgy chunks of brownie, this doesn't quite hit the mark.
