into wine through a process of careful maceration to extract their colour, tannins and aromas,
enhanced by constant churning during fermentation. This takes place in vats (lagares) at a
controlled temperature (between 28-30°C) until the right degree of sweetness (baumé) is
achieved. At this point, grape brandy is added to create the final fortified wine. A wine of high
quality, made by blending wines of different harvests to achieve the array of sensory qualities
that are typical of these aged tawny Port wines. These wines have each matured in oak casks
for varied periods of time, with the average age of all the wines in the blend defining the age
on the label. The resulting blend expresses the characteristics given by the ageing in wood. Time well spent in barrel.

Lovely
I was given this for free to review. I am not normally a port drinker so can't really compare it to others but it is really lovely and I would get it again.
Smooth flavour
I’m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. I’m not normally a port drinker but was keen to try this after reading the reviews. Pleasing bouquet and lovely smooth fruity taste. Rich red colour, I would buy this if I needed a decent port.
Superb port
I was sent this to review and was very surprised to find just how good this is not usually being a port drinker. Husband and friends were impressed too. Lovely flavour and smooth to drink
Exquisite
I was given this by Ocado to review and shared it with friends. This port has an enticing bouquet – cherries, dried fruits, spice and a hint of vanilla. Some ports have a soupy almost confected flavour and can be a little too acidic and heavy. This is an elegant, complex fortified wine with depth and a long finish. A good match for all types of cheese and fruit based desserts. A must buy for Christmas
Quality Port!
Have tasted a few ports over the years but this comes out top! Smooth and moreish!
Lovely
I received this to review and as I'm not a port drinker I had to rely on my Mums opinion. The bottle and taste are really nice and it is great quality. We both really enjoyed it.
