not for me
3rd brand tried - impressed initially but way too soft compared to more rigid ones Ive had. Made inserting far more pleasant (and super comfy to wear) but leaked more than it collected even on light days.
Good idea great cause
I am reviewing as I got this for free from Ocado. First its a great idea and saving the planet one piece of plastic at a time kinda idea but sadly its not for me. Im too long in the tooth now to change from the tampons I have always used and for me these were no good for me at work as you need to have access to taps to be able to wash up/re use so its not something you can do in work cubicles when you need to come out to wash up.
Not for me
I'm reviewing this as I got a free sample from ocado. In the end these weren't for me and I prefer the period pants to these but there is nothing wrong with the cups per se therefore I felt it only fair to give a 5 star review. Not for me but can see they'd be fine for someone who prefers cups to reusable pants or the disposable pads etc.
the future
I've used a different cup for years and was really glad to get this over to review for free from ocado. I recommend everyone do the quiz at putacupinit.com to figure out which cup is best as there are dozens of brands now. it's softer than the other one I have which makes it easier to pull out, but this does make it sometimes more fiddly to put in. the pull string is very easy to green compared to my other one. overall this is the easy to go!
Fabulous for Some, Not for Me
I was really glad to be offered this product to to review. I hate the amount of waste sanitary products cause, and anything that helps prevent that is a huge bonus. I have previously tried menstrual cups pre child birth, and the one I used was quite uncomfortable and fiddly. 18 years later, I'm thinking now I'm not made for these. I found it really hard to remove - bearing in mind you need to release the suction rather than just pull it straight out (to avoid risking a prolapse!). Being perimenopausal, I found it pulled on my skin when inserting it even on first use and caused soreness. I did perseverse, but for me it was just too uncomfortable to use. I think everyone should try one if they can though, I really wish I could have gotten on with it! They save so much money and avoid all that waste. The design seems fairly good albeit standard, this one is a great option if you want to try for the first time or buy a new one. The product just isn't for me, sadly.
not for everyone
I am reviewing this product as I was sent it by Ocado. I was interested to try this for environmental reasons but I found it too messy and impractical for my lifestyle. How do you use it when using a cubicle and then having to go out to use a basin - like at work. That said, some people love these.
